Thurmont Snow Team

Thurmont Police Department is in need of those who would like to serve on the Thurmont Volunteer Snow Team. Help your community stay safe this winter.  This volunteer snow team would help those seniors and residents with disabilities clear their front walkway and sidewalk. Consider joining our Thurmont Volunteer Snow Team. It’s a great way to help those in need this winter.

How to Register for Assistance

If seniors or those with disabilities wish to register for the program, you may pick up a form at Thurmont’s Town Office or the Thurmont Police Station.  You may also contact the Thurmont Police Station at 301-271-0905 extension 105 to have one mailed. If we recruit a volunteer to service your home you will be contacted by our office.

How to be a Volunteer!

The Thurmont Police Department is looking to connect individuals that are willing to help remove snow and ice from front walkways and sidewalks for seniors and the disabled in the Town of Thurmont.  We are currently recruiting volunteers (13 or older) from the Town of Thurmont. This service will be offered free of charge to the seniors and disabled.

Students that sign up for the program will be assigned a home within walking distance of their home and will commit to shovel each time there is an accumulation of 1 or more inches of snow or remove ice on walkways.  This program can be used for a record of volunteer hours and community service with Frederick County Public Schools. Any student under the age of 18 will need a signed letter of consent from a parent or legal guardian.

We encourage and welcome adults to join!

If interested in being a volunteer of the Thurmont Snow Team you may pick up the volunteer form at Thurmont’s Town Office or the Thurmont Police Station. You may also contact the Thurmont Police Station to have one mailed.
