Charter & Code Review Committee  members are:

Shirley DePaolis
Sandra Hunter
Don Tyler
Mike Cahak

The Charter & Code Review Committee was established by the
Commissioners of Thurmont in 2003 to review the Charter and
Code of Ordinances of the Town of Thurmont for the purpose of
updating these documents to better serve the current needs of the
Town.  Drafts of changes to these documents are submitted
by the Committee to the Board of Commissioners for their
approval in public meetings.   When the committee was first formed,
the committee solicited from Town officials and residents,
suggestions for any changes to the Town ordinances.
A draft of a revised Charter was submitted to the
Board of Commissioners in 2004 and has been reviewed
once, but not yet approved.  Following completion of the
revised Charter, the Committee has been developing proposed
changes to existing ordinances, or new ordinances in response
to specific requests from the Commissioners, Town staff, and residents.

The Committee meets Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center
on East Main Street and residents are welcome to attend.
Since meetings may not be held every single week of the year,
residents planning to attend should contact one of the Committee
members prior to the meeting they plan to attend to verify that
it has not been canceled.
